My Bangalore stays are always short, so I work backwards, starting from traffic time to flight time.

Now, all roads lead to the first week of March as I gear up for an exciting exhibition happening at BIC.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been quietly working on something special for pet parents.
The first products will launch in March with @pilitaxiindia , followed by a release on my mini store. Eventually, they’ll make their way to the Pets of Paradise store,though I haven’t brought it up with the team yet. Consider this our little secret… for now 😀

Some sketches make it to the outside world, while others remain tucked away in my device, waiting until it’s time to either replace the tablet or archive them to free up space on the iPad.

This illustration is one of those that didn’t make the cut. More often than not, it’s because of budget constraints or tight timelines.

Lately, though, I’ve been fortunate enough to work on projects I never imagined I’d be chosen for. It’s been a few good months, and I’m truly grateful for the opportunities that have come my way.

Spent my Sunday giving my desk a much needed reset. Sorting through the clutter, finding homes for the little things, and setting it up for the week ahead ✏️

I was thrilled to see over 25,000 people running the marathon with my illustration on their jerseys. ☀️

Back in November, I connected with a few members of the organizing team to brainstorm ideas for the marathon’s design.
Since they were new to the world of illustrations, I kept things straightforward and worked closely within the brief they provided. This made the process smooth, with just a few rounds of back-and-forth to account for printing limitations, which I had to keep in mind at every step.
The illustration on the front featured footprints. Human, bird, and others, symbolizing the different journeys and purposes we all run toward in life. The back kept things simple yet striking: a fisherman watching the race at dawn, cheering the runners with a heartfelt cry of “Run, Chennai, run!”

Today, the Pets of Paradise design team set up shop at @wework.in , and it wasn’t a typical day. I spent the morning reflecting on our product brands, each with its own unique identity, yet all part of POP’s colorful world.

For the first time, I truly felt we’ve built something remarkable, team that breathes life into our mascots and carefully studies our past work to plan for the future. It’s a moment I once doubted we’d reach, but here we are.

We had a long discussion about why design is at the heart of Pets of Paradise. I may have given more advice than they asked for like that person at a dinner party who insists on explaining how the dessert was made when everyone just wants to eat.

But it was important to share what makes our approach special:
* Design sets us apart in a crowded market.
* It keeps competitors on their toes, unsure of what we’ll do next.
* It’s a playground for creativity, where anything is possible.
* And most of all, it gives everything we do more impact and reach.

By the end of the day, I felt more certain about POP’s place..a warm, creative niche in the pet industry.

Anna Nagar friends, did this ad in Chennai Times catch your eye last week?
I illustrated this for Haven, a fine dining restaurant opening its third location in Anna Nagar.
The ad highlights all three outlets and some key landmarks in Chennai, making it easy for anyone to find them.
It was a tight two-day deadline, but with Uncle Sundu’s help, we finished it on time.
Seeing my work on a full-page ad for the first time is definitely a moment to remember!

A tree filled with treats and a Milo full of lights is what Christmas looks like at Pets of Paradise 🎄

Last weekend was a big one, not just for me but for many kids in Chennai. I was determined to have the witches’ house ready on time and couldn’t let them down. A few days before, someone asked me if I could pull this off on such short notice. No way was I letting the kids see a blank wall!

I spent the first two days perfecting my concept sketches and managed to have everything installed the night before the event. Although my trusted print vendor of four years assured me he could handle it on his own, I insisted on being there personally to oversee everything.

In the end, it was all worth it.I was told that the kids loved it! One even tried eating the doughnut🤣

Today, after a long time, I went back to the basics—glass pen, ink, and paper. This is my second dip pen, and I love how simple the process feels. I pause often, dip the pen, watch the ink fill, and then go back to drawing.

With beautiful old houses being demolished and replaced by towering, unattractive buildings, I’ve decided to start a new vertical where I’ll illustrate people’s ancestral homes before they cease to exist.

Such homes carry a unique charm, and I’d love to capture yours! I have a few illustrations lined up already, but if you’d like to have yours illustrated, feel free to email me!

Working from a coworking space for a month has been incredibly rewarding, with plenty of work getting done.
The real highlight is watching waves of people on their lunch breaks, mouths full and juggling calls.
It’s a hilariously chaotic sight!

In 2022, I collaborated with @mokobara through a creative agency. Among the many brands I worked with that year, Mokobara stood out for their good looking products.

The collaboration was a barter deal. I got to keep a sleek laptop bag for personal use and feature their larger range in an illustrated scene. The laptop bag caught my eye immediately. it was elegant, functional, and felt like the perfect companion for someone constantly on the move. I envisioned it in an airport setting, surrounded by the buzz of travelers. As someone who loves the energy of travel, it felt like the ideal way to highlight the product.
The team loved the concept, and I got to work creating the scene in a greyscale style, with the bag as the star of the story.

I’m not sure if the illustration ever saw the light of day, but it remains one of my favorites ☺️

Last night, over an early dinner, I came across something familiar..my 2021 illustrations for Flying elephant at @parkhyattchenn , Chennai.
It brought back memories of an interesting project with its fair share of ups and downs.

It began with a call from an agency in Chennai. They were looking for something unique for Flying Elephant, a menu design that would feel personal.

We started the project just a month before the pandemic, which put everything on hold. For a while, it seemed like it might not move forward, but when Flying Elephant reopened, we resumed work and finished the project within a few months.

The concept: Illustrating signature dishes to look like pages from the head chef’s journal, offering a personal touch.

The treatment: Loose, organic, and rough lines to give the impression of a creative process in motion.

I haven’t worked on many menu designs since, but this one still stands out to me.
I’d be happy to take on something similar in the future.
